Workshops Sensual Erotic

That is my typical way of working with I travel with Kim. I setup one camera on a tripod on auto-pilot mode (magiclantern timelapse feature for the less romantic folks), and get many cool wide angle shots (including some nice behind the scenes pictures when I get in the frame).

Once done, I move around using a second camera. In this specific case, the camera on the tripod is mounted with a 18mm lens, while I shoot with a second body at 85mm, extremely close to the water. I keep a distance of about one inch about the water, gently following the waves, and keeping my focus on the beautiful dancer.

This picture is created from that shooting: https://www.instagram.com/p/BBdWyoHzPnK

I've been always facsinated by nature and its flow, colors, beauty, perfection on every live been, rocks, plants, insects, birds, threes, but i found something when i started to make macro photography, i start to feel more connected with it, since i can get closer to wildlife with this technique, i've been seeing life from another perspective, i feel that nature feel the intention, if you aren't able to kill anything that has life, because i retain the togugh that everything that has life deserve to live, and with this i mean every live been, ants, mosquitos, spiders, THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL, as we are too. There is a frequency that we can't understand that connect us with all the alive things in this big asteroid that is traveling trough space, we are not apart.

We went to Tamale, Ghana last year with a mission group who were building schools for remote villages. We met this beautiful family just outside one of the villages and I was lucky enough to capture photos of this girl with her bike, which she uses as her form of transportation for work, school, etc. It is humbling every time I go to Africa and witness the way they live, but when I get a chance to interact with them, it is life changing.

Big. Windows. Win. This was shot in an old building where the floor had holes and the windows were covered. Removed some unattractive plastic from this window and bingo.

This was shot with a studio strobe camera right diffused with a 36" octobox. The sun was also camera right, so I used the octobox to fill some of the harsh shadows. This also allowed me to expose for the sky and blast my subjects with a more even light.

I used the pocket wizard Flextt5 with hypersync. This allowed my camera to sync at 1/6400 and keep my F1.8 creating that shallow DOF.

The decision to learn 3D graphic and CGI came to me during the Spring of 2015 when I was looking for inspiration on the sites like Pinterest or Behance. After analyzing pictures of high end commercial photographers and then looking for some further details about how the shot was created I realized just how often is CGI incorporated in image making process. The final output is nowadays not only realistic, but at the same time it has that perfect/polished feel, that was so hard for me to replicate with photography.
This image was my first real attempt to create fully realistic render that I was satisfied enough to publish in my portfolio. The exploding splash in the top part was photographed in the studio, same as small droplets behind the bottle. Everything else was created in 3D software. Inspiration for this image came from official Coca Cola Zero campaign.

Pin pointing the location was not easy, even after long search.
However when I found the location, it did not take long to realize it’s potential.

As I analysed the scene, first thing that concerned me was the weather.
It was an overcast day with a flat sky.

Having had another two days in hand, I decide to revisit the location again.
Unfortunately for my entire trip, weather was not on my side.
So on the final day, I decided to make the best use of what was thrown at me.

An overcast sky meant that, there is very little light coming through the opening.
The absence of light presented a high contrast scene, with darker foreground and a relatively bright sky.

I decided to bracket the exposures to cover the full dynamic range of the scene.
Paying extra for a check in luggage came handy, as my tripod allowed me to slowdown the shutter and achieve a symmetrical composition.

For post processing, I used Lightroom CC for RAW adjustments.
Once all three exposures were tweaked to represent different regions of the scene, I merged them on Photoshop using Digital blending technique.

I also applied some mid-tone adjustments (protecting the highlights and shadows) to boost contrast.
Finally a dodge and burn layer was used to guide the viewer towards the plane.

Hope you guys like it.
