*** Vestrahorn Reflections ***

This photo was taken at Stockness, Iceland.
Being one of the most popular place for photographers, Vestrahorn was a challenge to get a unique prospective.
On my first visit, I had to return empty handed due to the bad weather. How ever on second attempt, there was a small window when the cloud formation was interesting and rain had stopped for just 30 minutes.
I am happy with what I managed to get, with the time constraint. I hope you guys like it as well.
*** Stand Up N Get Counted ***

Sometimes the Worst Weather Makes The best Shot.
Recipe Behind the Shot:
Three hours of wait for downpour to stop.
No telephoto lens to compress distance.
(Shot with Canon 100 mm Macro)
4 degree outside temperature.
Constant Spray of ice cold water.
A patient wife, agreeing to wait while I kept perfecting the composition.
Benefit of Worst Weather:
Less or almost no crowd, at one of the most popular place in Iceland.
Moody Atmosphere.
Lesson Learnt by Me:
No weather is bad weather.
Learn to Adapt and move on. :)

*** The Awakening ***

Location:
Skofja Loka, Slovenia
Story:
You snooze, You lose. That's the true story for every landscape photographer!
Likewise, I too pushed myself out of the cozy hotel bed at 5am to get ready to tackle an uphill ride to soak in the beauty of Saint Thomas Church.
It was a really cold morning with below freezing temperature. So I had to drive very carefully maneuvering through the icy hair pin bends to reach the hill top.
I had done extensive research before my trip to Slovenia. Let me tell you that, its one of the safest countries in Europe with lowest crime rates.
In spite of all that I must admit, it was not a pleasant experience to drive middle of nowhere in a foreign country to reach the location before sunrise. Luckily my wife was my partner in crime and decided to sacrifice her sleep without knowing, what's coming her way. :)
As the sun came out, we witnessed nature use its pallet of a million colors to paint the scene. It was arguably one of the best sunrises I have ever experienced in my life.
Lesson Learnt:
Pain is temporary, the photo and the experience stays for a lifetime.
Regrets:
Some days the valley gets filled up with fog. I was not lucky enough to experience that.
I wish I had a dedicated telephoto lens.
The longest lens I had was a dedicated Canon Macro lens (100mm F 2.8). I have tried to make the best use of the available resource. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Hole in the Wall

A not-so-well-known view from the Valley of Fire. I could tell you where to find it...but that's part of the fun, you'll either have to find it on your own or you'll just have to come with me and Taylor on our next adventure out there!
