this is a 27 panel mosaic of the moon this image was taken from my backyard in Mesa, Arizona. this image was taken using an 10" newtonian reflector and a canon t3i mounted on a mount that compensates for the rotation of the earth. 2700 frames were taken, 1000 for 1/27 segment of the moon, the best 25% were stacked together to counteract atmospheric turbulence. these were then stiched together in photoshop to create a full size high res image of the moon

shot this "against" a wall of natural soft light, which crawls around her and gives me depth in the pic - i, for my style, used quite a closed aperture - but i really like it - it gives details and fine contrasts
